My journey

For 37 years, I have walked into places that had stopped working, and left them fixed.

On the Siachen Glacier – the highest battlefield in the world – we brought all 800 soldiers back home for the first time in 15 years. In Lolab, a 1,200-strong Rashtriya Rifles unit with suicides by two soldiers and an officer, earned laurels after freeing 60,000 Kashmiris from terrorism. In Assam-Manipur, “All Tribes, One India Tribal Tricolour Revolution” ended a two-decade-old insurgency. In Kashmir, I helped Kashmiris raise the Tricolour over Lal Chowk, Srinagar. At NCC Delhi, I rebuilt the culture of 19 NCC units with 36,000 cadets to win the Prime Minister’s Runners-Up Cup, while laying the foundation of the Clean Yamuna Maa Campaign. In Pakistan, I read the Pulwama terror attack’s real intent a week before the Balakot strike and helped avoid Pakistani interference in India’s General Election 2019.

Today, that strategic discipline drives my seva and my lectures to help our youth build our shared dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.

My idol, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Four lessons from the life of Chhatrapati Maharaj and where each one was put to work in mine. The top image in each column is the lesson; the bottom is the posting where it was applied.

Note:- ‘Vishwasrao’ is the title given to Vijayrao Sidhoji Pawar, Fort Commander of Shivneri Fort by Shahji Raje Bhonsle for protecting his wife Jijabai (Jijamata) before, during and after she gave birth to Shivaji on 19 February 1630. Jijamata and Shivaji remained under the care of ‘Vishwasrao’ for nearly four years. A branch of this ‘Vishwasrao’ family later shifted to Ratnagiri District.

“Give me your toughest challenge. I will bring 37 years of hard-earned wisdom to turn it into lasting change—and build a system that keeps delivering long after I have moved on. Because the true measure of leadership is not what you achieve while you are there, but what continues to thrive after you leave.”
