STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/ IDEA PROMOTION SONGS BY MAJOR GENERAL SANJAY P VISHWASRAO

The theme song of the Save Our Culture & Heritage campaign was launched in 2015 for the Dimasa tribe’s Maibang Stone House and Ranachandi Temple in Dima Hasao, Assam, under Brigadier Sanjay P Vishwasrao’s ‘All Tribes, One India’ Tricolour Revolution Strategy for Peace. The site is now a six-acre public park and a source of Dimasa pride. That pride in their own culture helped draw Dimasa insurgents towards peace.

Save Our Culture & Heritage: Lungzubel

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/ IDEA PROMOTION SONGS BY MAJOR GENERAL SANJAY P VISHWASRAO

Launched in 2015 under Brigadier Sanjay P Vishwasrao’s ‘All Tribes, One India’ Tricolour Revolution Strategy for Peace, this Save Our Culture & Heritage theme song celebrates the Biate tribe’s Lungzubels at Kobak, Dima Hasao, Assam. It brought the tribe’s long-buried heritage back into focus. Its impact reached beyond the Biates: the reclusive Zeme Nagas, some of whose members were active insurgents, asked him to take up their dilapidated Asalu Fort too.

Save Our Culture & Heritage: Asalu

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/ IDEA PROMOTION SONGS BY MAJOR GENERAL SANJAY P VISHWASRAO

In May 2015, Zeme Nagas of Asalu Village requested Brigadier Vishwasrao to bring Save Our Culture & Heritage Project to their 19th-century British Fort, a small roofless three-room structure. After five months of work, Asalu, for the first time, opened its hearts to ‘All Tribes, One India’. The date selected for the inauguration was Ahimsa Day, 2015. Seeing Tricolours, exchange of gamchas, all tribals dancing to our Dima Hasao-19 Unity song—all for the first time—the displaced Kuki tribals of Naga-majority Leiki village requested us for help in returning to their village, 20 years after their Naga-Kuki tribal violence driven migration. 40 days later, when NSCN (IM) terrorists threatened the Kukis, the Naga headman drove them away, declaring Leiki lay in Assam, not in Nagalim.

Dimasa Museum, Maibang

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/ IDEA PROMOTION SONGS BY MAJOR GENERAL SANJAY P VISHWASRAO

In 2016, Brigadier Vishwasrao launched the second Save Our Culture & Heritage project for the Dimasa Tribe—a Dimasa museum at Maibang, Dima Hasao, Assam. The over-arching them remained ‘All Tribes, One India’. It contributed to Dimasa insurgents fully embracing peace. This idea resulted in the Assam Govt, in 2025, constructing a full-fledged Dimasa Heritage Museum and Dishru Research Centre, restoring Maibang’s pride as the Dimasa Kingdom’s former capital.

Judima Wine Festival

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/ IDEA PROMOTION EVENT BY MAJOR GENERAL SANJAY P VISHWASRAO

At one of his first outreach events in Haflong, Assam, Brigadier Sanjay P Vishwasrao judged 50 homemade entries at the Judima Wine Festival. He saw a path to peace: pride in Dimasa culture could draw insurgents into the mainstream. Promoting Judima helped secure its GI Tag and raised its price from ₹50 to ₹1,200 a bottle. Because of all these efforts, former Dimasa insurgents are now elected members of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council.

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/ IDEA PROMOTION SONGS BY MAJOR GENERAL SANJAY P VISHWASRAO

Major General Sanjay P Vishwasrao launched the Save Dal Lake theme song in March 2021 under his Kashmir Tricolour Revolution Strategy for Peace, to reconnect Kashmiris with their culture and nature. Best of all, the government shelved its plan to relocate Dal dwellers to the Jhelum floodplains, 20 km away.

Lal Chowk and its Clock Tower, Srinagar’s most politically charged landmark, were won over without firing a single bullet, through Major General Sanjay P Vishwasrao’s strategy from 2020 to 2022. On 15 July 2021, for the first time since Independence, Kashmiris carried the Tricolour to Lal Chowk and across Srinagar with the Swarnim Vijay Varsh Mashaal, the victory flame marking 50 years of the 1971 war. Never before had Kashmiris shown such courage. A critical report in The Caravan in 2022 failed to dampen this yearning for peace.
