One flag, seen from every corner of Srinagar: that was the idea behind a 100-foot Tricolour on the sacred Haer (Hari) Parbat. No crane could reach the summit, so Kashmiri labourers hauled the mast up by hand for a week. On 15 August 2021, as Afghanistan’s tricolour fell in Kabul, India’s rose over Srinagar. Today, the fort draws tourists and stands as a symbol of peace.
